The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is an organization for girls aged 11 to 21 which strives to help today's young women develop strong character based on seven cardinal virtues:

Love, Religion, Nature, Immortality, Fidelity, Patriotism, Service

Membership is open to all girls of good character who are either related to a Master Mason, or who are a friend of a Rainbow Girl.

Community Service

Rainbow stresses community service, and NKC Assembly participates in at least one service project each month. Examples of recent activities include:

  • Nursing Home Visits - girls play games with residents, and make table favors or small gifts

  • Adopt-A-Highway - picking up trash along the road the girls adopted

  • Harvesters - sorting and packing donated food and household supplies

  • Walk-a-Thon - raising money for State Service Projects and the Rainbow scholarship fund

  • Trash for Cash - forking lawns and donating the clean-up proceeds to State Service Projects and the scholarship fund

  • Children's Center for the Visually Impaired - cheering for the kids at the Trolley Run and collecting money to donate

Social Activities

Each month the Assembly plans one or more social activities. These include bowling, roller skating, ice skating, sleepovers, visiting the zoo, picnics, and attending dances. All activities are fully supervised by caring adult leaders.

Business Meetings

Rainbow Girls learn the fundamentals of running an organization, conducting meetings using Roberts' Rules of Order, and public speaking by participating in regular business meetings. All members have the opportunity to develop leadership skills by holding offices, serving on committees, and participating actively in the business of the Assembly.
